Trinity University Business & Humanities District
Trinity University’s Business and Humanities District realizes a vision for a cohesive and vibrant interdisciplinary academic district. The district includes the renovation of two historic mid-century buildings, Chapman and Halsell Halls, designed by noted Texas Modernist O’Neil Ford, and the addition of Dicke Hall, a new mass timber academic facility. Together, these projects complete the campus’s academic spine, where each department is clearly identified and supported by indoor and outdoor spaces for collaboration, gathering, and informal learning.

TxA Award Winner: Hotel Saint Augustine
Located in the heart of Houston’s Montrose district, Hotel Saint Augustine sits within walking distance of the Menil Drawing Institute, the Cy Twombly Gallery, the Rothko Chapel, and the Menil Collection. The design responds to this rich cultural context while drawing inspiration from the neighborhood’s low-density, residential character.

TxA Award Winner: The Awty International School
The new Student Center celebrates Awty’s multicultural community while catalyzing innovative STEM programming, supporting evolving pedagogical practices, and creating healthy outdoor space within the compact urban campus. Biophilic design strategies informed the LEED Gold project, shaping a building that maintains a constant visual and physical connection to the new Awty Green.
We extend our congratulations to everyone involved in bringing these projects to life, and to all of this year’s honorees.
