Ameeshi Shrivastava is a graduate student in Urban Design at UT Austin with a background in architecture. She’s interested in how cities can be made more inclusive, livable, and better designed for the people who use them every day.

She completed her Bachelor of Architecture at the School of Planning & Architecture, India. Growing up in India gave her a different perspective on how cities in the global south function, especially in terms of density, informality, and the kinds of public spaces people rely on. A design internship in France during undergrad gave her the opportunity to study European cities up close, which eventually led her to pursue a master’s degree focused on urban design.

What she finds most fulfilling about the field is the opportunity to design not only for individual clients, but also for shared public spaces where people can gather, interact, and build connections. She’s especially interested in projects that support community life and feel grounded in the needs of the people who live there.

In her free time, Ameeshi enjoys reading fiction, is an amateur runner, and is oddly good at beer pong. She’s usually at a movie theater or catching live music when she’s not working.
