As a Partner and a leader of Lake Flato’s Urban Environments Studio, Chris takes a naturalistic approach to region-specific design by working closely with clients to understand site, climate and context all while integrating the clients’ needs. His diverse portfolio includes mixed-use, hospitality, commercial development, large-scale civic projects and master planning efforts. His work focuses on creating vibrant, human-scaled destinations that positively impact their community. Chris helps manage Lake Flato’s Austin office while working remotely from Portland, OR, where he also leads a small contingent of remote employees from multiple studios. Inspired by simplicity in the environment around him, Chris takes a naturalistic approach to region-specific design by working closely with clients to understand site, climate and context all while integrating clients’ needs.
