Daniel Mowery

AIA, LEED AP BD+C

Senior Associate

Daniel Mowery is a Senior Associate in Lake Flato’s Residential Studio. He focuses on designing homes and hospitality projects that are rooted in place, drawing from the land, local materials, and the rhythms of everyday life. With over a decade of experience, Daniel brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to each project, creating spaces that feel timeless, responsive, and deeply connected to their environment.

His work includes private residences across Texas and hospitality projects like Hotel Saint Augustine in Houston and The Holdsworth Center in Austin, which received a national AIA Honor Award. He has contributed to two AIA COTE Top Ten Award-winning teams, reflecting his commitment to sustainability, material integrity, and resilient design. From early visioning through construction, Daniel focuses on clear communication, meaningful details, and creating spaces that are both beautiful and built to last.

A graduate of the University of Virginia, he received the AIA Henry Adams Certificate of Merit and a travel fellowship to study urban spaces across Italy—an experience that continues to shape his appreciation for proportion, restraint, and the sensory richness of architecture.

Daniel believes that the most successful homes come from a close working relationship with clients, a deep understanding of place, and a shared commitment to thoughtful design. His work continues to explore how well-crafted, enduring architecture can strengthen our connection to the landscape—and to the lives we build within it.
