Jacob Lyons

Urban Designer I

Jacob is a talented Urban Designer who advocates for growing cities and their people, striving to create multi-generational communities that honor culture, history, and the natural world. Jacob’s Louisiana & New Orleanian roots have inspired his advocacy as well as his passion for how natural ecology and culture can affect communities, cities, and states. While studying architecture at Louisiana State University in the culturally rich city of Baton Rouge, Jacob honed in on the important role that urban design and architecture play in preserving cities that are heavily impacted by natural disasters. His time spent in Charlotte obtaining his Master’s in Urban Design at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte further solidified his interest in urban design for growing cities, specifically during the affordable housing crises surrounding the pandemic.

The accumulation of his professional and educational experiences in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, interiors, and graphic design have allowed Jacob to understand and design through various perspectives and scales, resulting in beautiful community-oriented spaces that honor a city’s history and future.
