Sean O’Brien

AIA

Associate

Sean is passionate about the intersections between design and technology and how they promote environmental stewardship. He is most drawn to the ways architecture and design can heighten the impact on our relationship to culture and place, and how it embraces local craft while looking at tradition in new ways. Prior to joining Lake Flato, Sean was a SOM travel research fellow, studying the evolution of user-created public spaces and traveling throughout South America and Asia. Over the past several years, Sean has worked on a variety of project types and scales, from civic parks to urban development. Sean received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his Master’s from The University of Texas in Austin. When not designing, Sean can be found backpacking or rock climbing in nearby and far away destinations.
