Delaware Botanic Garden
Situated on a 37-acre waterfront parcel in southeastern Delaware, the Delaware Botanic Gardens at Pepper Creek are the Delmarva region’s first botanical gardens to celebrate the coastal plain with new outdoor experiences under the masterplanning guidance of Robinson Anderson Summers. Lake Flato completed a concept design for a new visitor center, entry pavilion, and event space to be constructed in future phases. The first phase, including a 4-season meadow designed by Piet Oudolf opened in 2019.
The Botanic Garden is adjacent to the University’s working farm, offering a unique opportunity to integrate teaching and learning gardens, display and collection gardens, ecological and research gardens, and agricultural interpretation.
