Friends Meeting House
To foster a quiet, contemplative setting for meditative worship, the Friends Meetinghouse achieves privacy by orienting the meeting space to the back of a courtyard, which is surrounded by mesquite and acacia trees. The design is inspired by the functional and simple spaces of early meetinghouses, which also serve as community gathering spaces.

The elegant simplicity of the materials echoes the simplicity of Quaker faith. The design reflects the region's vernacular sense of architectural space and the detailing is exceptional, achieving harmony with an economy of means.Juror; Faith & Form International Awards Program for Religious Art & Architecture
Built to a human scale with modest materials, this project is well integrated with the land and expresses the essence of Quaker spirituality.
