Havens on Fanny Hill

A series of single-family residences are situated slope-side near the base of Snowmass Mountain, arranged to maximize the community’s connection to nature and provide access to an extensive network of outdoor recreational amenities. Certified LEED Platinum, each of the ten homes is carefully sited to maximize views and provide privacy, while framing shared communal spaces.  The ground plane has been lifted and sits on top of a shared parking garage to create a pedestrian-friendly and skier-focused community linked by shared pathways and a native landscape.

A major challenge of the project was accomplishing the client’s vision of creating a pedestrian-oriented residential community while also accommodating the required density of cabins and amenities. This project distinguishes itself from other mountain residential developments with its pedestrian-focused site approach which visually and physically connects owners to the mountainside setting, celebrating placemaking in the seasonal landscape.
