Park Tudor School
Park Tudor School is a PK–12 independent school serving 900 students in northern Indianapolis. Their campus master plan, designed by Lake Flato, boldly addresses the school’s programmatic priorities, including the desire to nurture the health and wellness of the school’s students, faculty, administrators, and families. Within the context of Park Tudor School’s historic and venerable campus, the new Student Wellness Center promotes an integrated approach to physical, emotional, and social well-being.
In collaboration with CSO Architects.
Phase One of the campus master plan includes a new 65,000-square-foot Student Wellness Center which embraces Indiana’s love of basketball and pairs it with spaces for strength, fitness, community, teaching, and dining.
The Student Wellness Center features competition/practice courts, a community fitness center, strength/conditioning facilities, health education classrooms, an alumni center, multipurpose rooms, team rooms, a coaches’ suite, and a café to reinforce proper nutrition within a culture of fitness. The gymnasia are voluminous, with exposed trusses and careful implementation of clerestory daylight to prevent glare.
